Our verdict on Scorebet: a big deposit match from a small regional bookmaker
Scorebet South Africa is a Kimberley bookmaker with shops in three provinces, and its online welcome offer is far bigger than its size suggests: the offer terms put the matches on your first three deposits at up to R18,750 plus 450 free spins, although its own promotions page quotes different caps. Even the first match dwarfs Sunbet’s 100% up to R1,000 and YesPlay’s R3,000. Withdrawals are flexible too, with Ozow, ATM cash and shop vouchers. Against that, the paperwork names three different companies, no licence number is published, and HelloPeter reviewers give it 1.1 stars with no replies.
The terms are workable for an offer this size: 5x rollover at odds of 1.75, lighter than YesPlay’s 7x at 3.10 and level with Sportingbet’s 5x on sports. The catch is a 72-hour deadline, and Scorebet’s own pages quote different caps, which we untangle below.
The sportsbook lists 28 sports and takes horse and greyhound racing bets; GBets and YesPlay have no horse racing. Payout caps rise with the number of legs, from R10,000 on a single to R250,000 on 12 legs or more.
Punters who will deposit more than once and want a large match spread over three deposits, accumulator fans who will use the Bonus Boost, racing bettors, and anyone who would rather draw winnings as ATM cash or a shop voucher.
iPhone users, big singles bettors who will hit the R10,000 cap, and anyone who wants a bookmaker that answers public complaints. For the country’s biggest brand with 24/7 support, read our Betway review.

How we reviewed Scorebet
We rate every bookmaker with the same nine-category model. For this Scorebet review we used the bookmaker’s own pages, gambling board licence records, app store listings, customer reviews and news. See how we rate bookmakers.
Is Scorebet legit? A Northern Cape licence with untidy paperwork
Scorebet’s footer says it is “licensed and regulated by the Northern Cape Gambling Board” and links to its licence: a renewed Bookmaker Operator Licence from the Northern Cape Gambling and Liquor Board, dated May 2026, for premises at 5-7 Phakamile Mabija Road, Kimberley. It expires on 31 March 2027.
So is Scorebet legit? It is licensed, but the details do not line up. The certificate names “Deeps Betting Grounds t/a Scorebet”, the site names “ScoreBet (2013/122709/07)”, and deposits go to “Scorebet Online (Pty) Ltd”. Neither the site nor the certificate shows a licence number, only the company registration number.
The group itself dates back to a 2013 company registration. “Scorebet North West (Pty) Ltd” is on the North West Gambling Board’s list of bookmaker licence holders, and Scorebet Mpumalanga (Pty) Ltd applied for a site operator licence in Siyabuswa in October 2024. There are 12 branches, including Rustenburg, Brits, Kuruman and Witbank. The owners are not named.
What to do if you have a dispute with Scorebet
Complain by email, phone, post or at a branch, giving your name, account ID, the date and time, a description and documents. Scorebet promises written acknowledgement within 48 hours and a final decision within seven working days. If you are still unhappy, escalate to the Northern Cape Gambling Board at enquiry@ncgb.co.za or 081 761 9101.

Scorebet sign-up and FICA
You must be 18 or older and may hold one account. The R20 free bet arrives without a deposit, so, as at Betway, you can try the site before paying in. Scorebet FICA needs:
- An ID card, passport or driver’s licence
- Proof of address no older than 3 months (utility bill, bank statement or official letter)
- Sometimes, a bank statement or voided cheque
Upload them on the website; Scorebet says checks “can take a few days”. Its pages disagree on timing: the FICA guide says you must be verified to deposit and bet, while the sign-up bonus terms let unverified players use the free bet. Upload straight away to avoid problems. Verification also earns 10 free Aviator flights.
Before paying out, Scorebet may ask for bank proof, ID and both sides of any card you deposited with.
Scorebet sportsbook: 28 sports plus horse racing
The sportsbook runs on the advbet platform, with tabs for top leagues, outrights and statistics, and filters for today, tomorrow and the weekend.

Sports and leagues
The menu lists 28 sports, from soccer, rugby, cricket and tennis to handball, snooker, cycling, Formula 1 and biathlon. Soccer covers the PSL, Premier League, Champions League, Serie A, LaLiga and Bundesliga, with markets such as Double Chance and Both Teams To Score. Our PSL betting guide explains how those markets work.
Horse and greyhound racing have their own sections, a real difference from GBets and YesPlay, neither of which offers horse racing (see our YesPlay review).
Live betting and cash out
Live in-play betting is available. The cash out page says cash out works on all pre-match and live events, but the homepage says pre-match only. Rely on the cash out page, but check your live bet slip before counting on it.
Features
The Bonus Boost adds 2% to a two-leg accumulator, 10% on five to ten legs and 35% on 25 legs or more, automatically. Esports outrights cover Counter Strike and League of Legends.
What is not offered
Scorebet does not advertise a bet builder or live streaming.
Scorebet maximum payouts: caps that rise with each leg
Instead of one figure per bet, Scorebet caps a sports bet according to its number of legs, and all sports wins count towards a R250,000 daily limit, Bonus Boost included. Anything above the R1,000,000 overall daily limit is forfeited.
| Bet type | Maximum payout |
|---|---|
| Sports single | R10,000 |
| Multiples, 2 to 8 legs | R10,000 per leg (R20,000 to R80,000) |
| Multiples, 9, 10, 11 legs | R100,000, R150,000, R200,000 |
| Multiples, 12+ legs | R250,000 |
| Horse racing single to quad | R10,000 to R50,000 |
| Lucky Numbers; casino | R200,000 a day each |
| Everything combined | R1,000,000 a day |
Worked example: a R200 four-leg multi at combined odds of 300.00 should return R60,000, but the four-leg cap is R40,000, so the most you can be paid is R40,000 (R20,000 less). A fifth leg lifts the cap to R50,000.
Scorebet welcome bonus and promotions: a large deposit match
The Scorebet welcome bonus starts with a R20 no-deposit free bet, then matches your first three deposits. The first match alone goes to R5,000, five times Sunbet’s R1,000. Compare it with other betting bonuses.

R20 free bet and 10 free spins
You get R20 in free bets plus 10 spins on Gates of Olympus. Roll the R20 over three times (R60 of bets) at odds of 1.65 to 100/1 within 72 hours. Same-event markets do not count, and you can withdraw at most R50 from the bet and R50 from the spins.
Three deposit matches
The terms give 100% up to R5,000, then 125% up to R6,250, then 150% up to R7,500, each with 150 spins and a R50 minimum deposit. Bonus money must be wagered 5 times at 1.75 or more within 72 hours, on sports, lotto or horse racing. Winnings are capped at R15,000 from bonus funds and R20,000 from spins.
Scorebet’s pages disagree here. Older homepage banners say “up to R10,000”, “R12,000” and “R15,000”. The First Deposit Bonus card on the promotions page says up to R7,500 plus 150 free spins on each of the first three deposits in its banner, and up to R15,000 plus 150 free spins in the text below it. The offer page, its terms and the current banner image say R5,000, R6,250 and R7,500. Rely on those and confirm before depositing.
If the 5x applies to the bonus alone, a R1,000 deposit earns R1,000 and needs R5,000 of bets in three days. Our guide to wagering requirements explains the maths.
Ongoing promotions
- Bonus Boost: up to 35% extra on any sports accumulator.
- Money Back Madness: one pre-match leg loses and you get 2x your stake back on 7+ legs (cap R1,000), 5x on 10+ (cap R2,500) or 10x on 14+ (cap R5,000).
- Bad Beat Playoff: 3x your stake back on golf outright singles, up to R5,000 per tournament.
- FICA bonus: 10 Aviator flights, up to R250 withdrawable.
Scorebet does not advertise a loyalty or VIP scheme.
Scorebet deposits and withdrawals: cash at the ATM, weekend waits
Withdrawal choice is a strength: Ozow, ATM cash and shop vouchers sit beside bank transfer. The minimum withdrawal is R60 and the terms list no fees.
| Deposit method | Notes |
|---|---|
| Bank cards | Must be in your name |
| Instant EFT | All major banks, says Scorebet |
| Direct EFT | ABSA, Nedbank, Standard Bank, Capitec, FNB; user ID as reference |
| Vouchers | Full amount must be wagered before withdrawing |
| Mobile money | Listed on the help page |
Voucher users can compare other voucher betting sites.
| Withdrawal method | Stated time |
|---|---|
| Ozow Instant EFT | Instant |
| Standard EFT | 2 to 3 business days |
| ATM cash (FNB, Standard Bank) | PIN by SMS |
| Vouchers (Makro, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, MTN, Vodacom and more) | Not stated |
Stated timings differ. The terms say withdrawals “might take up to 12-36 hours”, are paid within 24 hours of confirming funds, and are processed on the next business day, so Friday to Sunday requests wait until Monday. The help page gives 2 to 3 business days for standard EFT. Treat the terms as the guide.
Which withdrawal method should you use?
- Ozow: the only method called instant; see Ozow betting sites.
- ATM cash: for FNB or Standard Bank customers, or anyone wanting cash.
- Standard EFT: the slowest stated time; compare EFT betting sites.
How to withdraw from Scorebet, step by step
- Complete FICA; payouts go only to an account in your name.
- Finish any bonus or voucher wagering.
- Choose Ozow, EFT, ATM or voucher.
- Enter at least R60 and confirm.
Fees to know about
- No deposit or withdrawal fee appears in the terms.
- A bank clearance period may apply.
Scorebet Lucky Numbers, Betgames and casino games
Scorebet Lucky Numbers covers UK 49s, SA Powerball and SA Daily Lotto. Betgames is available too, and the casino has Pragmatic Play and EGT slots, Evolution live tables, keno and crash games such as Aviator and SkyPilot. This review does not cover the casino in depth.
Scorebet app: Android only
The Scorebet app is an Android APK (V2.3) from Scorebet’s own app page, not Google Play. The Play Store app called “ScoreBet” comes from a Polish developer and is unrelated, so avoid it.
No iOS app is listed; iPhone users bet on the responsive mobile site.

Scorebet customer care number and support
The Scorebet customer care number is +27 65 833 4939, with WhatsApp on +27 64 837 6496, email at support@scorebet.co.za and live chat on the site. Branches also take complaints in person.
Official pages are inconsistent: the privacy notice lists 087 353 8930, and the contact page labels 079 465 1995 as WhatsApp support, though that is the NRGP HELP line. Use the two numbers above. HelloPeter reviewers mention unanswered emails and an unhelpful chatbot, so keep a written record.
Responsible gambling at Scorebet
Deposit limits (daily, weekly, monthly), wagering limits, cooling-off and self-exclusion are available by contacting support or emailing support@scorebet.co.za, not as self-service tools. Self-exclusion lasts at least six months, and lifting it requires NRGP-accredited counselling.
For help, call the National Responsible Gambling Programme free on 0800 006 008 or WhatsApp 076 675 0710.

Scorebet reputation: low ratings and no replies
On HelloPeter, Scorebet has a TrustIndex of 1.9 out of 10 and 1.1 stars from 17 reviews in the past year, and it does not respond to reviews. Betway’s 1.9 stars shows low scores are common, but Scorebet’s silence stands out.
Recurring complaints cover missing deposits, delayed withdrawals, FICA rejections, uncredited bonuses and ignored self-exclusion requests. Praise is hard to find, and no Trustpilot profile is listed for the site. We are not aware of news reports of regulator sanctions or payout scandals.
Tips for betting at Scorebet
- Trust the R5,000 figure: plan around the deposit bonus terms, not old R10,000 banners.
- Size your deposit: only deposit what you can turn over 5 times in 72 hours.
- Add legs, not stake: singles pay no more than R10,000.
- Withdraw early in the week: weekend requests wait until Monday.
Scorebet questions
Is Scorebet legit and legal in South Africa?
Yes. Scorebet holds a renewed bookmaker operator licence from the Northern Cape Gambling and Liquor Board, valid until 31 March 2027, and a related company is a North West Gambling Board licence holder. No licence number is published, and the licence, site and bank accounts use three different company names.
Who owns Scorebet?
The site names ScoreBet (2013/122709/07) in Kimberley, the licence names Deeps Betting Grounds t/a Scorebet, and deposits go to Scorebet Online (Pty) Ltd. Related companies run branches in North West and Mpumalanga. The individual owners and any parent group are not named on Scorebet’s pages, and the company registration dates from 2013.
What is the Scorebet minimum deposit?
The only Scorebet minimum deposit stated is R50, in the deposit bonus terms, higher than YesPlay (R20) and the same as Sportingbet and Sunbet. Voucher deposits must be wagered in full before you can withdraw winnings, and the minimum withdrawal is R60. The terms list no deposit fee either.
How long does a Scorebet withdrawal take?
Scorebet says withdrawals may take up to 12 to 36 hours and are processed on the next business day, so weekend requests wait until Monday. Ozow is listed as instant and standard EFT as 2 to 3 business days. The minimum Scorebet withdrawal is R60, and the terms list no fees.
What documents do I need for Scorebet FICA?
An ID card, passport or driver’s licence, plus proof of address no older than three months, such as a utility bill. Scorebet may also ask for a bank statement or voided cheque. You upload them on the website, and checks can take a few days, so do it before you need a payout.
Is there a Scorebet app?
Yes, for Android only: an APK (version V2.3) downloaded directly from Scorebet’s own app page rather than an app store. The “ScoreBet” app on Google Play belongs to an unrelated developer. No iOS app is listed, so iPhone users bet through the mobile site, which adapts to phone and tablet screens.
What is the Scorebet customer care number?
Call +27 65 833 4939 or WhatsApp +27 64 837 6496. You can also email support@scorebet.co.za, use live chat or visit a branch. Some pages list other numbers, including the NRGP helpline, so use these two for account help. Branches also take complaints in person, and there is also a deposits@scorebet.co.za address.
Does Scorebet offer cash out and live betting?
Yes. Live betting is available, and the cash out page says cash out works on all pre-match and live events. The homepage mentions pre-match only, so check for the cash out button on your live bet slip before relying on it. Scorebet says its Bonus Boost covers all sports and bet types.
