Our verdict on Kingbets
Kingbets is a Cape Town bookmaker with a wide sports menu, plenty of local payment options and no welcome offer at all. Its promotions page is empty, which sets it apart from almost every rival chasing sign-ups with a free bet or deposit match. The licence is real but young, and the brand has very little public track record.
The operator, King Bets (Pty) Ltd, holds a Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board bookmaker licence issued in November 2025. There is no HelloPeter or Trustpilot page and no news coverage, so there is no complaints history to judge it by, good or bad.
Range is the real strength: more than 40 sport categories plus 10 esports titles, from football and rugby to darts, politics and TV specials. Deposits cover Ozow, Capitec Pay, card transfers and several voucher brands, and a cardless withdrawal pays out as a voucher and PIN to your phone.
The trade-offs are practical. Support runs through two WhatsApp numbers, email and an on-site chat, with no phone line and no stated hours. There is no app in either store, the minimum withdrawal is R100, and Kingbets publishes no withdrawal processing time.
Punters who do not care about sign-up bonuses, want a big menu of sports, esports and novelty markets, and like paying with vouchers or Capitec Pay. It also suits people happy to sort things out over WhatsApp.
Anyone who wants a welcome bonus, a phone line, an app or a long public reputation to lean on. If you bet on horse racing or want payout times in writing, a bigger brand covered in our Betway review is a better fit.

How we reviewed Kingbets
We rate every bookmaker with the same nine-category model. For this Kingbets review we used the bookmaker’s own pages and terms, the gambling board’s licence records, app store listings, customer review sites and news coverage, then weighed the results against the other South African bookmakers we cover. See how we rate bookmakers.
Is Kingbets legit? A young Western Cape licence
Yes. The footer names the operator as King Bets (Pty) Ltd, trading as Kingbets, licensed and regulated by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board under Bookmaker Licence No. 10181847-012, issued in Cape Town in November 2025. The company also appears under “Bookmakers” on the board’s own list of licence holders.
A single provincial licence is common: Scorebet works from the Northern Cape, and Betfred and Bettabets from Mpumalanga. What sets Kingbets apart is how new the licence is. The copyright line in the footer starts in 2021, but the licence dates from November 2025, so the regulated history is short.
The registered address is in Woodstock, Cape Town. The footer links to the General Terms and Conditions, FICA, Responsible Gaming, Sport Betting Rules, Dispute Resolution, Privacy Policy and the bookmaker licence. The owners behind the company are not named.
Watch out for similar names. Kingbet.co.za (no “s”) is a placeholder page with no company details, kingbets.tz is a Tanzanian brand, and “KingBet Betting Tips” in the App Store is a tipping app. Type kingbets.co.za directly.
What to do if you have a dispute with Kingbets
Contact support@kingbets.co.za or a WhatsApp number first, and keep screenshots of the bet slip, transaction and messages. Then follow the Dispute Resolution page linked in the footer. If that does not settle it, the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board is the regulator responsible for Kingbets.
Licence and safety is 12% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
Kingbets sign-up and FICA
Registration includes an automated identity check. If it fails, Kingbets says the account stays open but you cannot deposit, bet or withdraw until the FICA team has reviewed your documents. Full Kingbets FICA asks for:
- A green bar-coded ID book or smart ID card (front and back)
- A liveness selfie through “Verify Now”, or a selfie holding your ID
- Proof of residence not older than 3 months
- A bank letter, statement or source of funds proof, if requested
The FICA team works Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:00, and Kingbets says reviews take about 48 hours after documents arrive. Have clear scans ready before you sign up, especially if you want to bet the same weekend.
Kingbets sportsbook: a long menu, no horse racing
Breadth is Kingbets’ strongest suit. The menu lists more than 40 sport categories plus 10 esports titles, with 257 live and 3,694 pre-match events shown on testing. Odds are visible without logging in.

Sports and leagues
Football leads, followed by basketball, tennis, volleyball and ice hockey. Rugby union, rugby league and cricket are there, along with golf, boxing, MMA, darts, snooker, Formula 1 and cycling, and rarer picks such as Gaelic football, hurling, lacrosse and surfing. Novelty markets include The Oscars, Politics, TV Shows And Movies and WWE. Local football fans can read our PSL betting guide for the main markets.
Esports cover Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League Of Legends, Valorant, Mobile Legends, CrossFire, King Of Glory, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six and Standoff 2.
Live betting
Separate Live and Prematch tabs, plus Upcoming Matches, Popular Matches and Popular Competitions sections, make the busiest games easy to find. The Live tab showed 257 events on testing.
Features
Kingbets has Boosted Odds and a Multiple Of The Day section. These are the only extras shown on the sportsbook page.
What is not offered
There is no horse racing, and Lucky Numbers does not appear in the sports menu. Betway carries racing if you need it.
Kingbets maximum payouts
Kingbets caps total payouts at R300,000 per customer per calendar day or rolling 24 hours, unless its Limits Table says otherwise. That is well above Bettabets’ R50,000 single-bet cap but far below Play.co.za’s R2 million per bet.
| Bet type | Maximum payout |
|---|---|
| General limit (per day or rolling 24 hours) | R300,000 |
| Bets with two or more legs | R100,000 |
| Pragmatic Play games (per draw or game) | R200,000 |
| Free Bet promotion winnings | R5,000 per customer per promotion |
Worked example: R50 on a five-leg multiple at combined odds of 2,500.00 returns R125,000 on paper. Because bets with two or more legs are capped at R100,000, R100,000 is the most you would be paid.
Kingbets welcome bonus and promotions
There is no Kingbets welcome bonus. The promotions page lists no offers on its All, Sport or Casino tabs, and the homepage shows none either. That is unusual: YesPlay offers 100% up to R3,000, Bettabets 100% up to R5,000 plus 50 spins, and GBets a R50 free bet once you are verified. Compare current deals on our betting bonuses page.

No sign-up offer, no wagering
Without a bonus there is no bonus wagering to play through. To withdraw, you need approved FICA documents and at least R100. Our guide to how wagering requirements work explains why a large headline bonus can be hard to turn into cash. If a bonus still matters most, the Betway sign-up offer needs no deposit and the GBets welcome bonus pays a free bet after verification.
Free bet terms to know
The General Terms already cover free bets, should any appear. Winnings are capped at R5,000 per customer per promotion and the stake is not returned, so a R100 free bet at 3.00 pays R200, not R300.
Ongoing offers
- Boosted Odds: enhanced prices on selected events.
- Multiple Of The Day: a featured multiple in the sportsbook.
- Casino tournaments: listed in the casino menu.
Kingbets deposits and withdrawals
Kingbets lists a wide spread of local payment brands, from instant bank payments to cards and vouchers. On the way out, there is a R100 minimum withdrawal, a limit of five withdrawals per day and no published processing time.
| Deposit method | Type |
|---|---|
| Ozow and Capitec Pay by Ozow | Instant bank payment |
| PeachPay RealTime | Instant bank payment |
| Peach Card Transfer; CallPay Credit Card | Card |
| OTT voucher (Vodacom, Telkom, MTN, Cell C, Standard Bank, FNB, Nedbank) | Voucher |
| Blu Voucher; OneVoucher (via CallPay) | Voucher |
Kingbets says limits vary by provider, so there is no single Kingbets minimum deposit; check the limit before you pay. See our Ozow betting sites list or our guide to voucher betting sites for how these methods work.
| Withdrawal method | How it works |
|---|---|
| Bank account | Paid to your bank account |
| Cardless withdrawal | A voucher and PIN sent to your registered mobile number |
| Nedbank cardless cash out | Cash at Nedbank ATMs and stores such as Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, Usave and OK Foods |
Which withdrawal method should you use?
- A bank account for larger wins, so the money is easy to track.
- Cardless withdrawal if you have no bank account or want cash in hand.
- Nedbank cardless cash out if a supermarket till is closer than a bank.
How to withdraw from Kingbets, step by step
- Get your FICA documents approved.
- Log in and open the withdrawal section.
- Choose bank account or cardless withdrawal and check that provider’s limits.
- Enter at least R100 and confirm.
- For cardless payouts, wait for the voucher and PIN on your phone.
Fees to know about
- Withdrawals of R20,000 or more may carry bank or transaction charges that you pay.
- No more than five withdrawals per day.
Our payment methods hub compares these options across bookmakers.
Casino and other games at Kingbets
The casino menu lists Casino Games, King Spins games, Live Casino, Popular Games, New Games, Buy Bonus and Betting Games, plus Aviator and casino tournaments. Pragmatic Play games pay up to R200,000 per draw or game.
Kingbets Lucky Numbers is not in the sports menu; if number draws are your main interest, our YesPlay review covers a brand with more than 100 Lucky Numbers draws. This review focuses on sports betting and does not cover the casino in depth.

Kingbets app and mobile site
There is no Kingbets app in the App Store or on Google Play. “KingBet Betting Tips” in the App Store is an unrelated tipping app.
Kingbets runs as a web app built for phone screens instead. Open kingbets.co.za in your mobile browser to reach the sportsbook, casino and your account. GBets is in a similar position, with no Android app on Google Play.
Usability and the app are 10% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
Kingbets customer care: WhatsApp first
Kingbets has no phone line. The Kingbets customer care number is really two “WhatsApp Only” numbers: +27 67 399 1490 and +27 64 696 0294. A chat icon sits in the bottom-right corner of every page, and there are separate email addresses:
- support@kingbets.co.za for general help
- fica@kingbets.co.za for verification documents
- exclusion@kingbets.co.za for self-exclusion
Support hours are not stated; only the FICA team lists hours. GBets, by comparison, offers 24/7 chat and phone, so if you prefer to talk to someone, that gap matters.
Responsible gambling at Kingbets
The footer lists the national counselling line on 0800 006 008, a helpline email and WhatsApp “HELP” to 076 675 0710. Kingbets’ terms provide for daily deposit limits (clause 20.11) and a Self-Exclusion and Account Closure Policy (section 31).
To self-exclude, email exclusion@kingbets.co.za; Kingbets confirms by email. If betting stops being fun, set a deposit limit and call 0800 006 008 for free, confidential help.
Responsible gambling is 6% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
Kingbets reputation and complaints
Kingbets has almost no public footprint. There is no HelloPeter profile and no Trustpilot page, so there are no ratings, complaint themes or reply rates to report. We found no South African news or industry coverage, and no fines, sanctions or sponsorships.
That cuts both ways: no record of unpaid winnings, but no record of how problems are handled either. Long-running rivals such as Betway (1.9 stars on HelloPeter) and Bettabets (1.6 stars, no replies) score low, so a blank record is not automatically worse. It means you rely on the licence and the terms rather than other punters’ experience. King Bets (Pty) Ltd remains on the Western Cape board’s list of licensed bookmakers.
Tips for betting at Kingbets
- Get FICA done first. A failed automatic check blocks deposits and bets, and the FICA team only works weekdays.
- Watch the multi cap. Bets with two or more legs pay a maximum of R100,000.
- Withdraw in larger chunks. The minimum is R100, you get five withdrawals a day, and R20,000 or more may carry bank charges.
- Save both WhatsApp numbers. With no phone line, keep screenshots of any issue to send through.
