Our verdict on ReadySetBet
ReadySetBet is a Mpumalanga-licensed bookmaker with 12 branches in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Eastern Cape, and its website stands out on money matters. Deposits start at R5, withdrawals are fee free, and the bookmaker says payouts usually land within 6 hours. The welcome offer is one of the larger ones around: three 100% matches of up to R5,000 each, R15,000 in total, at an 8x rollover, plus 50 free spins once your FICA is approved.
That 8x rollover at odds of 2.00 sits in the middle of the market, where rivals range from 3x to nearly 30x. The limit that matters more is the R10,000 cap on what you can withdraw from the bonus wallet.
Horse racing is a genuine strength, with fixed-odds and tote betting, a payout on horses demoted on objection and a racing deposit match.
The weaker points are track record and convenience. There is no native app, no HelloPeter or Trustpilot profile and very little press coverage, and cash out only works on multiples once the first leg has won.
Punters who want a R5 entry point, free and fast withdrawals, and a big staged welcome bonus with a manageable sports rollover.
Bettors who rely on an app, who like to cash out single bets, or who want a long public complaints history to judge a bookmaker by.

How we reviewed ReadySetBet
We rate every bookmaker with the same nine-category model. This review draws on the bookmaker’s own pages and terms, the gambling board’s licence records, app store listings, customer reviews and news coverage. See how we rate bookmakers.
Is ReadySetBet legit? Licensing and safety
Yes. ReadySetBet South Africa is run by Kalmia Trading 1085 (Pty) Ltd, and the site footer states it is licensed by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator under Bookmaker Licence Number 9-2-1-09973. The licensed premises are in Willow Corner Shopping Centre, Delmas, and the registered office is in Wedgewood Office Park, Bryanston.
A Mpumalanga gazette notice from July 2017 shows Kalmia Trading 1085 applying to take over a bookmaker licence at that same Delmas centre, now one of ReadySetBet’s branches. The owners behind the company and the website’s launch year are not stated.
Two house rules are worth knowing. Only customers aged 18 or older with a South African bank account can register, and an account with no bets for 365 consecutive days becomes dormant, with any balance forfeit.
What to do if you have a dispute with ReadySetBet
Start with the 24/7 live chat, then put the complaint in writing to support@readysetbet.co.za with your bet or transaction reference. Keep copies of every message and screenshot.
If that fails, clause 6.19 of the account terms says unresolved disputes may be referred to the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator. Quote licence number 9-2-1-09973 and attach your correspondence. Complaints about personal data go to the Information Regulator of South Africa instead.
Licence and safety is 12% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
ReadySetBet sign-up and FICA
Registration is standard, but verification is quick on paper: ReadySetBet’s FAQ says FICA takes up to 10 minutes once all documents are in, and approval triggers 50 free spins. The ReadySetBet FICA documents are:
- A valid ID document, passport or driver’s licence
- A bank statement or proof of banking no older than 3 months
- Proof of residence, if your address is not on your banking document
Send them through live chat, by email or via the document upload area of your account. If you deposit by card, proof of that card may be requested before a withdrawal is paid, and no withdrawal is paid without a valid bank account.
ReadySetBet sportsbook: racing leads, cash out lags
The sports list is compact, with ten sports plus horse racing. Racing is deeper than at many rivals, while cash out and bet builder come with tighter rules than usual.

Sports and leagues
The sports covered are football, rugby, basketball, American football, tennis, golf, volleyball, darts, cricket and table tennis. For local football, our PSL betting guide explains how to approach the league.
Racing comes as fixed-odds “Horse Racing” (South African and international) and “Tote Horse Racing”, with Tote Soccer under the More menu. The Objection Double Payout pays your bet if your horse finishes first but is demoted on objection, up to R5,000 per customer per event.
Live betting and cash out
Live betting sits under “Live In Play”. Early Cash Out works on multiples only, once the first leg has been settled as a winner; ReadySetBet states that it is not available on singles.
Bet builder and multiples
Bet Builder runs on pre-match and in-play soccer and basketball, as single bets only, and counts 0% towards the welcome rollover. Multiples are capped at 15 legs.
What is not offered
There are no esports or virtual sports among the listed sports, and there is no native betting app.
ReadySetBet maximum payouts
ReadySetBet publishes clear caps for horse racing but no maximum payout for sports bets, so ask support before placing a large accumulator.
| Bet type | Maximum payout |
|---|---|
| Racing Open Bets (Swinger, Double, Trifecta, Quartet, Exacta) | R50,000 per bet |
| Exotic Bets (Jackpot, Pick 6, Place Accumulator) | R100,000 |
| Starting price (SP) bets | R50,000 |
| Tote bets | Up to the Saftote pool; 250x (Exacta, Trifecta, Quartet), 1250x (Swinger) |
Worked example: R1,000 on a horse at a starting price of 60.00 would normally return R60,000, but the SP cap limits the payout to R50,000. On long shots, keep the potential return under the cap.
ReadySetBet welcome bonus and promotions
At up to R15,000, the ReadySetBet welcome bonus is bigger than most on the market, and a list of ongoing sports and racing promotions sits behind it.
3-part welcome bonus: 100% up to R5,000, three times
Opt in, deposit at least R50 and your deposit is matched 100% up to R5,000, credited immediately. The second and third matches unlock once the first rollover is complete, and you must opt in again before each. No promo code is needed.
- Rollover: 8x the bonus on sports and racing at total odds of 2.00 or more; 30x on ReadySet Spins, Live Dealer and Lucky Numbers
- Valid for 14 days; maximum R10,000 withdrawable from the bonus wallet
- Bet Builder and equal-chance casino bets do not count
- Withdrawing during the rollover forfeits the bonus
Worked example: a R1,000 deposit earns a R1,000 bonus, which needs R8,000 in sports bets at 2.00 or more within 14 days. See our guide to wagering requirements.
Some of the bookmaker’s own pages disagree. An offers tile says “up to R5 000 in welcome bonuses” against R15,000 on the welcome page, and if the bonus is lost, the welcome terms require real money to be bet once at 2.00 while the general terms say 7/10 (1.70). Rely on the welcome page terms and confirm with support before depositing.
50 free spins for FICA approval
Verified accounts get 50 free spins with no deposit, valid 48 hours, with winnings capped at R500. A R50 deposit must be wagered once before withdrawing. The bonus page names Wanted Dead or a Wild, the FAQ names Jelly Express, so check your account.
Ongoing promotions
- 10% Weekly Sports and Horse Racing Cashback: up to R10,000 every Friday on a net loss of R100 or more, with only a 2x rollover. A R2,000 loss returns R200.
- Mega Multi Win Boost: 3% for 3 legs up to 20% for 16 or more, each leg at 7/20 (1.35) or more, pre-match only. With multiples capped at 15 legs, 15% is the realistic top boost.
- Horse Racing Deposit Match: 15% up to R2,000 from R50, 8x rollover.
- Birthday Voucher: automatic if you deposited R100 or more in the past 60 days.

ReadySetBet deposits and withdrawals
The R5 minimum deposit undercuts the R20 to R50 that is typical, withdrawals are free, and a stated payout time of usually 6 hours beats the common “within 24 hours”.
| Deposit method | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| BluVoucher, OTT, 4ALL Voucher | R5 | R3,000 |
| 1Voucher | R5 | R2,500 |
| Mastercard, Visa, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay | R5 | R250,000 |
| Secure EFT, Ozow, Capitec Pay, WalletDoc EFT | R5 | R250,000 |
Deposits are instant and free; bank deposits at FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank, ABSA and Capitec also work if you use your Account ID as the reference. See our guides to voucher betting sites and Ozow betting sites.
| Withdrawal method | Limits | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| FNB eWallet, Standard Bank Instant Money | R300 to R3,000 | Instant |
| Nedbank iMali | R300 to R4,000 | Instant |
| Fast EFT (OTT, WalletDoc, Ozow) | R100 to R200,000 (OTT R49,999) | Instant |
| OTT RTC EFT | R50,000 to R200,000 | Instant |
| Bank transfer | R100 to R200,000 | Up to 24 hours |
| OTT Voucher / airtime, data, electricity | R100 to R3,000 / R100 to R500 | Not stated |
The terms still allow up to 2 business days for risk checks, so a first withdrawal may take longer than the stated 6 hours. EFT withdrawals are capped at R200,000 each and R1,000,000 in total.
Which withdrawal method should you use?
- R300 to R3,000: FNB eWallet or Standard Bank Instant Money, both listed as instant.
- Most amounts: an instant EFT withdrawal through Ozow, WalletDoc or OTT.
How to withdraw from ReadySetBet, step by step
- Complete FICA and register a bank account in your name.
- Finish any bonus rollover so the bonus is not forfeited.
- Choose a method and enter an amount within its limits.
- Confirm the request; ReadySetBet says payouts usually arrive within 6 hours.
Fees to know about
- All deposits and withdrawals are listed as free.
- Clause 7.14 allows a 5% fee, or a refusal, if less than half a deposit has been bet. On a R1,000 withdrawal, that is R50.
- The FAQ caps voucher payouts at R1,000 a day, but the payments page lists OTT Voucher payouts to R3,000, so confirm first.

ReadySetBet Lucky Numbers, Betgames and casino games
ReadySetBet Lucky Numbers covers SA Lotto, SA Powerball, UK Lotto and UK 49s, a short list next to YesPlay and its 100+ draws. Betgames has its own menu entry, and ReadySet Spins carries slots and live dealer games from Hacksaw, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Evolution, Spribe and others, plus a crash lobby with Aviator and Spaceman. Casino games are not covered in depth here.
ReadySetBet app and mobile site
There is no ReadySetBet app. The FAQ says “There isn’t one yet, it’s in the works and should be available to the public soon”, so for now you bet through the mobile website, where live chat opens from Menu, then Contact Us.
Ignore the “Ready Set Bet Companion App” on the Apple App Store: it belongs to a board game. If mobile data is your concern, Betway offers Data Free betting.
Usability and the app are 10% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
ReadySetBet customer care number and support
Support availability is better than average: the FAQ says live chat runs 24/7, which not every local bookmaker offers.
- Customer care number: 086 110 6676
- WhatsApp: 083 206 3629
- Email: support@readysetbet.co.za
- Head office: +27 10 592 0216 or +27 11 781 5836
To change personal details, type “Agent” in the chat and an agent calls back to verify.
Responsible gambling at ReadySetBet
The FAQ says you can set deposit limits any time, and you can request a temporary deactivation of your account by email. Self-exclusion uses an application form and can only be lifted after at least 6 months, with proof of counselling.
For free, confidential help, call the NRGP on 0800 006 008 or send “Help” on WhatsApp to 076 675 0710.

ReadySetBet reputation and complaints
ReadySetBet has almost no public review history. It has no HelloPeter or Trustpilot profile, so there are no ratings, complaint themes or response rates to weigh, and it has drawn virtually no news coverage.
That is not a warning sign in itself, as the operator, licence number and dispute route are all published. Still, start small and make an early withdrawal before betting bigger sums.
Tips for betting at ReadySetBet
- Clear the bonus on sports. Sports need 8x at 2.00, casino and Lucky Numbers 30x, and Bet Builder counts nothing.
- Opt in weekly for cashback. The 10% sports cashback needs a fresh opt-in each week.
- Stop at 15 legs. That is the multiple limit, whatever the boost table says.
- Bet half of each deposit first. It keeps you clear of the 5% fee clause.
ReadySetBet questions
Is ReadySetBet legit and legal in South Africa?
Yes. ReadySetBet is run by Kalmia Trading 1085 (Pty) Ltd and licensed by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator under Bookmaker Licence Number 9-2-1-09973, as shown in its footer. It also has 12 branches, including head office in Bryanston. You must be 18 or older and hold a South African bank account.
Who owns ReadySetBet?
The operator is Kalmia Trading 1085 (Pty) Ltd, trading as ReadySetBet, registered at Wedgewood Office Park, Bryanston. The individual owners are not named on the site. A 2017 gazette notice shows the company applying to take over a bookmaker licence in Delmas, where ReadySetBet now has its licensed premises and a retail branch.
What is the ReadySetBet minimum deposit?
The ReadySetBet minimum deposit is R5 on every listed method, including vouchers, cards, Apple Pay, Ozow and Capitec Pay. You need to deposit R50 or more to claim the welcome bonus and other deposit matches. Vouchers top out at R3,000 (R2,500 for 1Voucher), while cards and EFT go up to R250,000.
How long does a ReadySetBet withdrawal take?
ReadySetBet says withdrawals are usually paid within 6 hours and no more than 12, except between 00:00 and 07:00, and by the end of the same day. Bank transfers can take up to 24 hours, and the terms allow up to 2 business days for risk checks, so a first withdrawal can take longer.
What is the ReadySetBet welcome bonus?
New customers get a 100% match up to R5,000 on each of their first three deposits, up to R15,000 in total, from R50. The sports rollover is 8x the bonus at total odds of 2.00 or more within 14 days, and up to R10,000 can be withdrawn from the bonus wallet. FICA approval adds 50 free spins.
Does ReadySetBet have an app?
No. The FAQ says an app is in the works and should be available soon, but for now you bet on the mobile website in your phone’s browser. The “Ready Set Bet Companion App” on the Apple App Store is for a board game and has nothing to do with this bookmaker, so avoid it.
What is the ReadySetBet customer care number?
The ReadySetBet customer care number is 086 110 6676. Support is also available on WhatsApp at 083 206 3629, by email at support@readysetbet.co.za and through live chat, which the bookmaker says is available 24/7, weekends included. The contact page also lists phone numbers for head office and each retail branch.
Does ReadySetBet offer cash out?
Only partly. Early Cash Out is available on multiple bets once the first leg has been settled as a winner, and ReadySetBet states that cash out is not available on single bets. Partial cash out is not mentioned, so plan on cashing out the full bet or letting it run to settlement.
