Our verdict on Apex Bets
Apex Bets is a new Western Cape licensee with a headline welcome package of up to R30,000, a sportsbook far deeper than its age suggests, and a payout record that calls for caution. The bonus is big but hard to clear: 20x the bonus at odds of 3.00 or higher, inside 7 days, with winnings capped at three times the bonus. Withdrawals are promised within 72 business hours, slower than most rivals, and every HelloPeter review so far is one star, most of them about money.
The operator, Letsbet (Pty) Ltd, was licensed in November 2025 and has no retail shops, no named owners and no press coverage.
On the betting side, Apex Bets South Africa covers 42 sports plus 10 esports titles, with a bet builder and a Boosted Odds section. The R50,000 single-bet cap matches Bettabets, and the R250,000 multi cap matches Scorebet’s top limit.
The weak points are payments and trust. Daily withdrawals start at a R15,000 limit, the site does not explain how to move up a level, and public reviews describe delayed or blocked withdrawals with no replies from the company.
Experienced punters who like long-odds bets, want a wide spread of sports and esports, and are happy to keep balances small while a new operator builds a track record. If you already bet at 3.00 or more, the bonus’s minimum odds will not change how you play.
Anyone who wants quick, predictable payouts, a first deposit under R100, a dedicated app or horse racing. Betway, GBets and Bettabets all state faster withdrawal times.

How we reviewed Apex Bets
We rate every bookmaker with the same nine-category model, using the bookmaker’s own pages and terms, the gambling board’s licence records, app store listings, customer reviews and news coverage. See how we rate bookmakers.
Is Apex Bets legit? Licensing and safety
Yes, Apex Bets is licensed, but very new. Its footer states it is “Licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board with License Number: 10194002-002. Issued: 26 November 2025”, and the board’s register lists Letsbet (Pty) Ltd under bookmakers. It does not claim any other provincial licence.
Letsbet (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2023/963735/07, is based at 33 Beach Road, Gordons Bay, Western Cape.
No directors, parent group or CEO are named, and there is no news or trade press coverage of Apex Bets or Letsbet, good or bad. No sanctions have been reported.
What to do if you have a dispute with Apex Bets
Clause 21 of the terms sets out the route:
- Contact support by email, phone or in person. Apex Bets says it acknowledges complaints within 48 hours and aims to resolve them within 7 business days.
- If you are not satisfied, escalate to senior management, which has a further 7 business days.
- If it is still unresolved, take it to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board for final adjudication.
Licence and safety is 12% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
Apex Bets sign-up and FICA
The terms say “No account will be created unless the identity of the Customer who applied for a betting account has been conclusively established and verified.” You give your full names, ID or passport number, email, mobile number and source of funds. Apex Bets FICA documents are:
- South African ID document or Smart ID card (front and back)
- South African driver’s licence (front and back)
- Valid South African work permit, or an asylum seeker or refugee permit
- A utility bill no older than 3 months as proof of address
- A bank statement from the last 3 months for EFT withdrawals
If you want the welcome bonus, activate it before your first deposit. Two HelloPeter complaints describe withdrawals restricted after verification, so upload clear documents early.
Apex Bets sportsbook: wide coverage for a new brand
The sportsbook is the strongest part of the site. The live tab showed 261 events and the prematch tab 3,877, across 42 sports and 10 esports titles, with quick links for Top League, Outright, Today, Top Matches, Multiples, Boosted Odds and Bet Builder.

Sports and leagues
Rugby union and football top the menu, which also covers cricket, tennis, Formula 1, snooker, darts, hurling, chess and even The Oscars. Esports include Counter-Strike, Dota, League of Legends and Valorant. For local football, our PSL betting guide explains the main markets.
Live betting and cash out
Live betting has its own Live Sports section. The terms do not mention cash out, so do not count on settling bets early.
Bet builder and boosted odds
Match pages carry a “BB” bet builder toggle on the betslip, and Boosted Odds collects enhanced prices.
What is not offered
There is no horse racing. Punters who want racing alongside football should look at Betway.
Apex Bets maximum payouts and withdrawal limits
The caps are reasonable for a small bookmaker, but daily withdrawal limits matter just as much.
| Bet type | Maximum payout per bet |
|---|---|
| Sports single | R50,000 |
| Sports multi | R250,000 |
| Betgames | R250,000 |
| Evolution live games | R2,000,000 |
Daily withdrawals are limited by account level: Bronze R15,000, Silver R25,000, Gold R45,000, Platinum R70,000 and Diamond R90,000. Apex Bets does not explain how you reach each level.
Worked example: R1,000 on a single at 60.00 would return R60,000, but Apex Bets pays a maximum of R50,000. At Bronze level you can withdraw R15,000 a day, so moving the full R50,000 takes at least four days of requests, each with the 72 business hour processing window.
Apex Bets welcome bonus and promotions
The Apex Bets welcome bonus has one of the largest headline figures among the bookmakers we have reviewed: up to R30,000, level with Play.co.za and ahead of Betfred’s R21,000. The catch is a 7-day window, high minimum odds and a payout cap. Read our explainer on how wagering requirements work before you commit.

Welcome Bonus: up to R30,000 over five deposits
New players get a match on each of their first five deposits of at least R100: 100% up to R5,000, then 75% up to R7,000, 125% up to R5,000, 50% up to R10,000 and 100% up to R3,000.
On sports, you wager the bonus 20 times at odds of 3.00 or higher. A section headed “Odd Betting Conditions” sets 30x for other play, and roulette, crash games, virtual games and baccarat do not count. Each bonus lasts 7 days and pays out at most three times the bonus. Activate it before depositing; there is no promo code.
In rands: deposit R1,000 first and you get R1,000 in bonus funds. You then need R20,000 in bets at 3.00 or more within 7 days, and the most you can take from the bonus is R3,000.
Apex Bets’ own pages disagree here. Clause 25 of the general terms says bonuses must be wagered 30x with a maximum payout of 5x the bonus, and the welcome terms say they do not replace that clause. The offer page is the one linked from the promotion, but ask support in writing which rule applies before you deposit.
Ongoing promotions
Every regular promotion is for slots, not sports. Compare sports offers in our betting bonuses guide.
- Monday Madness: 100% match on a deposit of up to R3,000 (minimum R100), 30x on slots, expires 23:59 the same Monday, maximum payout three times the deposit.
- Midweek Reload Bonus: Wednesdays, 100% match on a deposit of up to R5,000 (minimum R100), 30x on slots, expires 23:59 the same day, maximum payout three times the deposit.
- Habanero Jackpot Race: a casino race series with a R25,000 prize pool per race for the top 50, from a R2 bet on selected Habanero games, paid in cash with no wagering.
Apex Bets deposits and withdrawals
Payments are where Apex Bets falls behind. Its R100 minimum for bonuses and bank transfers is higher than the R20 to R50 at YesPlay, Bettabets and Scorebet, and 72 business hours compares with the 24 hours that GBets and Bettabets quote. The terms name payment types but no specific providers.
| Deposit method | Details |
|---|---|
| Credit or debit card | Listed in the terms; see Mastercard betting sites |
| EFT | Listed in the terms |
| Payment vouchers | Listed; voucher brands not named |
| Direct bank transfer | R100 minimum, 2 to 3 business days to process |
| Withdrawal method | Stated time | Extra documents |
|---|---|---|
| EFT bank transfer | Within 72 business hours of confirming the funds | Utility bill and bank statement, each within 3 months |
Which withdrawal method should you use?
- EFT bank transfer is the only route described, so use a bank account in your own name that matches your FICA documents.
- See our EFT betting sites guide.
How to withdraw from Apex Bets, step by step
- Upload your ID, proof of address and 3-month bank statement.
- Play your deposit through at least once, or Apex Bets may refuse the withdrawal.
- Open the Withdrawal function and enter an amount within your daily limit.

Fees to know about

Casino, Betgames and Apex Bets Lucky Numbers
The casino lobby lists 2,511 games, including 1,316 video slots, 169 live dealer tables and 30 crash games such as Aviator. Evolution supplies Crazy Time and Monopoly Live, Betgames offers War of Bets, Wheel of Fortune, Dice Duel and Lucky 5/6/7, and Lucky Numbers appears as a provider. This review focuses on sports, so we do not cover the casino in depth.
Apex Bets app and mobile site
No Apex Bets app is linked from the site for Android or iPhone. You bet through the mobile browser, which adjusts to your screen.
Like Betfred, Apex Bets is web only, and there is no data-free version.

Responsible gambling at Apex Bets
Clause 22 of the terms offers a 24-hour cooling-off period, exclusion for one month or more, three months or more, or permanent closure, all by email request. A Time out link in the footer opens your account settings.
For formal self-exclusion, email the National Gambling Board form from the self-exclusion page to stop@apexbets.co.za. Lifting it requires at least six months and proof of counselling. Deposit limits are not described on the site.
Free help is available from the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation’s toll-free counselling line (National Responsible Gambling Programme) on 0800 006 008, or WhatsApp HELP to 076 675 0710.

Apex Bets reputation and complaints
On HelloPeter, Apex Bets has a rating of 1 out of 5 from 6 reviews in the last 12 months, with a Net Promoter Score of -100. The profile is unclaimed and marked “Does not respond to reviews”.
All six reviews, posted between June and September 2026, are one star and nearly all concern money: a R5,000 withdrawal pending for more than ten days, withdrawals restricted after FICA, a R300 deposit that did not reflect, an outstanding refund and bonuses not delivered.
Trustpilot shows a TrustScore of 3.2 from one review, which said withdrawals take about 48 hours but called customer service “very very poor”.
Six reviews is a small sample, but an unbroken run of one-star reviews with no replies is weaker than Bettabets (1.6 stars) or Betfred, which replies to most reviews.
Tips for betting at Apex Bets
- Check which bonus rule applies. Ask support in writing whether 20x with a 3x cap or 30x with a 5x cap governs your welcome bonus.
- Size your deposit to your betting. A large bonus only helps if you can wager 20 times it at 3.00+ within 7 days.
- Finish FICA early. Upload your ID, utility bill and bank statement straight after registering.
- Withdraw regularly. Daily limits from R15,000 and a 72 business hour window make smaller, frequent withdrawals easier to manage.
