Our verdict on BetOlimp: a Cape Town shop bookmaker with strict bonus rules
BetOlimp is a Western Cape bookmaker run by O L I M P (Pty) Ltd, a Cape Town company registered in 2007 that operates nine betting shops alongside its website. Online, it offers a 100% first deposit match up to R3,000, 37 sports and Lucky Numbers under a Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board licence. The catch is in the bonus detail: only single bets at odds of 2.00 or more count, you can stake no more than R500 per selection from the bonus, and bonus winnings stop at R10,000.
That single-bet rule is what sets BetOlimp apart. The 7x bonus plus 1x deposit rollover is close to Bettabets, but singles only at 2.00+ narrows your options. Take the full R3,000 bonus and you need R21,000 in bonus turnover in seven days; at the R500 maximum per selection from the bonus balance, that is 42 maximum-stake singles.
The betting tools are basic. BetOlimp mentions no cash out, bet builder or live streaming in its terms or on its live page. The terms say withdrawals are paid on the first business day after confirmation, which is ordinary rather than fast, and they add a 5% fee on credit card deposits.

Yes. BetOlimp is the trading name of O L I M P (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2007/024997/07, at 120 Loop Street, Cape Town. Its terms give Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board licence number 10138042-020, issued in November 2025, and the WCGRB’s list of licence holders shows Olimp (Pty) Ltd under bookmakers.
The retail network is what makes BetOlimp distinctly local. Its nine branches are in Cape Town CBD, Parow, Goodwood, Wellington, Maitland, Mowbray, Bellville, Elsies River and Grabouw, most open until 11pm or midnight. Betfred and Bettabets have bigger shop estates.
BetOlimp South Africa is not the international betolimp.com site, and BetOlimp does not publish its owners. We found no regulator notice, fine or payout scandal involving the brand in the last three years.
What to do if you have a dispute with BetOlimp
Contact support first and keep screenshots. If a dispute about winnings stays unresolved, the terms say BetOlimp refers it to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board within 48 hours of telling you. The main extra is Bet Boost on selected markets; one example on testing lifted “both teams to score” in a Real Madrid match from 2.51 to 2.71.
What is not offered
There is no horse racing online, even though the terms include racing rules, and no cash out, bet builder or live streaming.
BetOlimp maximum payouts and limits
A R120,000 cap applies to any sports bet: above Bettabets’ R50,000, but below Bravobet’s R250,000 on multis. The terms say R120,000 covers any bet “other than Lucky Numbers”, while the Betting Limits page puts Betgames, Aviator and casino games in the R200,000 tier with Lucky Numbers. Rely on the more detailed Betting Limits page, and confirm with support before a big non-sports bet.

Worked example: a R1,000 five-leg multi at combined odds of 150.00 should return R150,000, but BetOlimp pays a maximum of R120,000, so R30,000 is lost to the cap. Under the R100,000 daily limit, even that takes two days to withdraw.

Betgames have their own lobby, and the casino carries Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger and NetEnt slots, Aviator, live dealer tables and virtual sports. This review focuses on sports, so the casino is not covered in depth.

The BetOlimp app is an Android APK downloaded from the website; there is no Google Play listing and no iOS app, so iPhone users bet in the mobile browser.
Installing an APK means allowing installs from unknown sources, so only download it from betolimp.co.za. One recent HelloPeter review complained of a slow site and server errors.

BetOlimp has a very small online footprint. HelloPeter shows six reviews in total, two in the past 12 months, an average of 1/5, no TrustIndex and a note that it does not respond to reviews. That is a thin record rather than a clear warning; Mzansibet (1.2 stars) and Scorebet (1.1 stars) sit at a similar level.
In January 2026 one customer said their account was removed for allegedly abusing Aviator Rain free bets, with rules enforced inconsistently. Another that month described a slow site with frequent server errors. There are too few reviews to show a pattern of payout complaints.
Tips for betting at BetOlimp
- Bet the bonus in singles. Only singles at 2.00+ count, with R500 a selection from the bonus, so spread the rollover across all seven days.
- Skip the credit card fee. Use SID or a voucher for your first deposit.
