Our verdict on LuckyStake
LuckyStake is a 2025 bookmaker run from Mthatha, licensed (according to its own footer) by the Eastern Cape Gambling Board. It has a wide sportsbook, but it offers no sports welcome bonus at all: the only sign-up deal is a 100% slots match up to R3,000 with 30x wagering. Wins are capped at R150,000 and withdrawals at R10,000 a day, and support runs by email and on-site message only.
The sportsbook is the strongest part. On testing it showed 298 live events and 3,717 pre-match events across football, rugby, cricket, esports and more than 25 other sports. Payments lean on familiar South African options such as Ozow, Capitec Pay, PayShap and vouchers.
The weaker parts are the rules around money. A R10,000 daily withdrawal cap matches WanejoBets but is far below LulaBet’s R250,000, and the payout limits page quotes both R150,000 and R100,000 as win limits. The 30x casino wagering is heavy next to the 3x to 8x most sports offers ask for.
There is also little track record to judge it by: no HelloPeter profile and no news coverage of the South African brand. Note that LuckyStake has nothing to do with luckystake.com, a closed Cyprus-based social casino.
Punters with modest stakes who want a broad sports menu, esports and live betting, plus slots players happy to work through a 30x bonus inside 7 days.
Anyone who wants a sports sign-up bonus, high rollers chasing big accumulator wins, horse racing fans, and punters who like to phone or WhatsApp support.

How we reviewed LuckyStake
We rate every bookmaker with the same nine-category model. For this LuckyStake review we used the bookmaker’s own pages and terms, the gambling board’s licence records, app store listings, customer review platforms and news coverage, then compared what we found with the other South African bookmakers we cover. See how we rate bookmakers.
Is LuckyStake legit? Licensing and safety
LuckyStake is a new name. Its footer says it is run by K2025281680 (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd, registration 2025/81680/07, trading as Luckystake.co.za, and that it holds Eastern Cape Gambling Board bookmaker licence ECBM 038, issued in July 2025. The registered address is Shop 73, Mthatha Plaza, 35 Nelson Mandela Drive, Mthatha.
The ECGB’s public list of bookmakers does not show LuckyStake, its operating company or licence ECBM 038. That list appears incomplete, as it also leaves out other recently issued ECBM licences. If you want certainty before depositing, contact the Eastern Cape Gambling Board directly and ask it to confirm ECBM 038.
No owners are named beyond the company itself, and the site does not describe any history before 2025. We found no news coverage, fines or sanctions involving the South African brand.
The safety basics are in place: a privacy policy, mandatory FICA checks, published self-exclusion options and the national problem gambling helpline in the footer. Being new is not a red flag, but there is no complaints history to judge it by.
What to do if you have a dispute with LuckyStake
LuckyStake does not publish a separate complaints procedure. Start by emailing support@luckystake.co.za with your username, the bet or transaction ID and screenshots. Keep records: the general terms (clause 11.10) say the company’s database takes priority in a dispute, so your screenshots may be the only independent evidence you have.
If the reply does not settle it, you can take the complaint to the Eastern Cape Gambling Board, the regulator named on the licence.

Signing up and LuckyStake FICA
Registration is standard, but LuckyStake asks for FICA completion during registration rather than at your first withdrawal. You upload documents from your profile under “Verify Account”. The FICA page does not say how long verification takes.
You need one proof of identity:
- Green bar-coded ID book
- South African driver’s licence
- Smart ID card (front and back)
- South African passport
And one proof of address:
- Mortgage statement (up to 2 months old)
- Utility bill, bank statement or municipal letter (up to 3 months old)
- Lease, life insurance policy, TV licence or tax return (up to 12 months old)
The casino welcome bonus is only for verified players, so finishing FICA early matters if you want it.
LuckyStake sportsbook: wide menu, no racing
LuckyStake South Africa has a broad sportsbook, even though its bonuses are aimed at slots. The home page promises “30+ sports”, and the sports menu backs that up. For local football, our PSL betting guide explains the main markets to look for.

Sports and leagues
The menu includes football, rugby union, rugby league, cricket, tennis, golf, basketball, Formula 1, American football, baseball, boxing, MMA, darts, volleyball, ice hockey, handball, table tennis, snooker and cycling. Less common options include futsal, Aussie rules, water polo, floorball, biathlon, alpine skiing, chess, lacrosse, surfing, Gaelic football and hurling. Esports covers Counter-Strike, Dota 2 and League of Legends.
Live betting and cash out
Live betting is clearly there: on testing the live section showed 298 events, against 3,717 pre-match. The home page also mentions cash out and live streaming. Treat those as LuckyStake’s own claims.
Features
The sportsbook menu carries Boosted Odds and Multiple Of The Day, both common on South African sites. The promotions page also lists an “AI Betting Assistant”, though no detail is given on what it does.
What is not offered
There is no horse racing in the sports menu.
LuckyStake maximum payouts and withdrawal limits
LuckyStake’s caps are lower than many rivals’. The payout limits page has a table setting the win limit at R150,000 for both sports and casino. The same page also says “Win Up to R100,000 on Select products Daily” and caps crash game wins at R100,000. The table is the more specific wording, but because the page disagrees with itself, ask support which figure applies to your bet before staking big.
| Limit | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sportsbook win limit | R150,000 |
| Casino games win limit | R150,000 |
| Crash games and “select products” | R100,000 |
| Maximum withdrawal per day | R10,000 per customer |
Worked example: say a R200 accumulator would return R180,000. Under the table, you would be paid R150,000. At R10,000 a day, emptying that balance takes 15 days of withdrawals. For comparison, 10Bet caps winnings at R500,000 a day and Betfred at R15 million.
LuckyStake welcome bonus and promotions
The LuckyStake welcome bonus is casino only: there is no sports offer at all. The Sport tab of the promotions page lists only the app, the AI Betting Assistant and the Loyalty Program. Sports punters who want a sign-up deal will find better value elsewhere; our betting bonuses page lists current offers, and Betway’s no-deposit pack is one example that needs no deposit.

Casino Welcome Bonus: 100% up to R3,000
New, verified players get a 100% match on their first deposit, up to R3,000, for slots only. The terms:
- First deposit only, minimum R50
- 30x turnover on the bonus amount before you can withdraw
- Must be completed within 7 days of activation
- Only slots from approved providers count; live casino, table games, crash, virtuals and sports bets do not
- Cash-out, system and voided bets do not count
- 18+ and KYC and AML verification required
In rands: deposit R1,000 and you play with R2,000, as LuckyStake’s own example puts it. The R1,000 bonus then needs R30,000 of slot spins within 7 days, about R4,286 a day. That matches ZARbet’s 30x bonus wagering, while JabulaBets sets 30x on casino winnings; YesPlay asks 7x on deposit plus bonus. Our guide to wagering requirements explains how turnover works.
Ongoing offers
The promotions page lists these cards. Each has its own rules, so read them before opting in.
- Daily Deposit Bonus on Slots: up to R5,000
- Loyalty Program: the one ongoing card on the Sport tab
- Bet on 100 games: listed on the main promotions page
- Boosted Odds and Multiple Of The Day: in the sportsbook menu
LuckyStake deposits and withdrawals
LuckyStake shows payment logos in its footer, but the deposit and withdrawal help links open the cashier, which needs a login. That means there is no public page with minimum withdrawals, fees or processing times.
| Payment logo shown | Type |
|---|---|
| Ozow (OzowPay) | Instant EFT |
| Ozow Capitec Pay | Bank app payment |
| OTT PayShap | Instant bank payment |
| OTT FNB, OTT Nedbank | Bank payment |
| OTT Voucher, Blu Voucher | Cash voucher |
| Standard Bank Instant Money | Cash send |
See our Ozow betting sites and voucher betting sites pages if you prefer those methods.
| LuckyStake withdrawal rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Daily maximum | R10,000 per customer |
| Minimum withdrawal | Not published |
| Processing time | Not published |
| Verification | FICA must be complete |
Which withdrawal method should you use?
- Check which of the footer methods appear for withdrawals once you are logged in, as the site does not split them publicly.
- If you have a big win, plan for the R10,000 daily cap and withdraw in daily steps.
How to withdraw from LuckyStake, step by step
- Complete FICA under “Verify Account” in your profile.
- Make sure any bonus wagering is finished.
- Log in and open the cashier’s withdrawal section.
- Choose a method and enter an amount of up to R10,000 for the day.
- Keep a screenshot of the request in case you need to query it.
Fees to know about
- The general terms say a withdrawal “is subject to a 6% fee” if a player refuses to comply with certain requirements, which the clause does not spell out. Ask support what triggers it before you deposit.
- No other fees are published. For more options, see our payment methods guide.
Casino, crash games and virtuals
Casino gets heavy billing on the LuckyStake home page. The menu includes slot games, crash games (with an Aviator link), live games, TV games, casino tournaments, jackpot games, a live casino and virtual sports. Lucky Numbers is not listed as a separate product in the main menu. We do not review casino games in depth.

LuckyStake app and mobile site
There is no LuckyStake app for South Africa in Google Play or the Apple App Store. The only Play Store app with the name, “Luckystake Casino Slots”, belongs to the unrelated Cyprus social casino, so do not download it by mistake. The promotions page does carry a “LuckyStake App” card; get any download only through luckystake.co.za.
The website is built for phones and LuckyStake bills it as “mobile-friendly betting”, so the mobile browser is the main way to bet on the go.
Usability and the app are 10% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
LuckyStake customer care
There is no LuckyStake customer care number. The Contact Us page lists only email (support@luckystake.co.za), an on-site “Instant Message” option and the Mthatha office address. No phone line or WhatsApp is given, which puts it behind most rivals: GBets, for example, offers 24/7 chat and phone.
Response hours are not published. Self-exclusion requests also go by email and are then verified by phone, so expect some back and forth for account changes.
Responsible gambling at LuckyStake
The footer shows the National Responsible Gambling Programme: call 0800 006 008 toll-free or WhatsApp HELP to 076 675 0710. The terms also mention a daily deposit limit you can set yourself.
Self-exclusion is requested by email to support@luckystake.co.za and confirmed by phone. The options are:
- Cooling-off: at least 24 hours
- Temporary suspension: at least one month
- Semi-permanent exclusion: at least three months
- Permanent self-exclusion
Responsible gambling is 6% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
LuckyStake reputation and complaints
LuckyStake has no track record to speak of yet. We found no HelloPeter profile and no Trustpilot page for luckystake.co.za, and no coverage in the South African or industry press. That means no complaint themes, but also no evidence of how it handles payouts and disputes.
The Trustpilot page, Play Store app and X account named Luckystake appear to belong to the unrelated luckystake.com, so ignore reviews of it. For an established alternative with a long history, see our Betway review.
Tips for betting at LuckyStake
- Confirm the licence first. Ask the Eastern Cape Gambling Board to confirm ECBM 038, as its public list does not show it.
- Skip the bonus if you bet on sports. Sports bets do not count towards the 30x wagering, so the casino match only suits slots players.
- Size bets to the caps. Keep potential returns under R100,000 unless support confirms the R150,000 limit applies, and expect to withdraw at most R10,000 a day.
- Do FICA at sign-up. LuckyStake asks for it during registration, and the bonus is only for verified players.
LuckyStake questions
Is LuckyStake legit?
LuckyStake’s footer states it is licensed by the Eastern Cape Gambling Board under bookmaker licence ECBM 038, issued in July 2025, to K2025281680 (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd. The board’s public bookmaker list does not show the licence, but that list appears incomplete. You can contact the ECGB to confirm it before depositing.
Who owns LuckyStake?
The site names K2025281680 (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2025/81680/07, trading as Luckystake.co.za. It is based in Mthatha, and no individual owners are named. It is not connected to luckystake.com, a closed social casino based in Cyprus.
Does LuckyStake have a sports welcome bonus?
No. The only welcome offer is a casino bonus: 100% of your first deposit up to R3,000, for slots only. It needs 30x turnover on the bonus within 7 days, and sports bets, live casino and crash games do not count. Sports punters get Boosted Odds and Multiple Of The Day instead.
What is the LuckyStake minimum deposit?
The welcome bonus needs a first deposit of at least R50. No general minimum is published, as banking details sit inside the login-only cashier. Payment logos on the site include Ozow, Capitec Pay, PayShap, OTT and Blu vouchers, FNB and Nedbank payments, and Standard Bank Instant Money.
How long does a LuckyStake withdrawal take?
LuckyStake does not publish withdrawal times or a minimum withdrawal. Its payout limits page caps withdrawals at R10,000 per customer per day. Wins are capped at R150,000 on sports and casino in the table, though the same page also quotes R100,000. Ask support which applies before placing large bets.

That can be a mortgage statement up to 2 months old, a utility bill, bank statement or municipal letter up to 3 months old, or a lease, insurance policy, TV licence or tax return up to 12 months old.
Is there a LuckyStake app?

What is the LuckyStake customer care number?
LuckyStake does not list a phone number or WhatsApp line. You can email support@luckystake.co.za or use the on-site Instant Message option. For gambling problems, call the NRGP on 0800 006 008.
