Shayabets is a new online name on an old KwaZulu-Natal bookmaking licence, with a Durban branch, phone and WhatsApp support and a tote horse racing tab. The welcome package is a R50 free bet and 25 free spins on registration, then a 100% first deposit match up to R5,000. The catch is a 3-day window on 3+ leg multis and wagering that the site words two different ways. Stated withdrawal times start at 2 hours, quicker than many rivals promise.
The brand dates from 2026, so there is no track record yet: no HelloPeter or Trustpilot profile and no news coverage, good or bad. It does have a clear paper trail: two named companies, a licence number and a published history of its KZN licence.
Limits split sharply: R50,000 on a sports single, R1,000,000 on multiples, which suits accumulator punters more than big-stake singles.

The footer states that Shayabets Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd, registration 2025/743888/07, is licensed by the Eastern Cape Gambling Board under bookmaker licence ECBM 065, issued in March 2026. The general terms are written in this company’s name.
The home page’s history text adds a KZN link. It says KZN bookmaker’s right BOM0012 was first issued to Bishopsgate Tattersalls for on-course betting at Greyville and Scottsville, and later operated by D.R. Thompson Bookmakers. According to Shayabets, Shayabets (Pty) Ltd acquired it in 2025, with the transfer approved by the KZN Gaming and Betting Board under Section 94 of the KZN Gaming and Betting Act. That gives a new online brand a licence with a long on-course history in KZN.
The ECGB’s public bookmaker list shows nine bookmakers and does not include Shayabets or ECBM 065. The same list also leaves out other recent ECBM licences seen on operator sites, so it appears incomplete. If this matters to you, ask the ECGB to confirm the licence before depositing.
What to do if you have a dispute with Shayabets

The general terms say unresolved disputes may be referred to the KZN board and the ECGB, and that Shayabets refers a dispute to the board within 48 hours. Ask which board has your case and follow up there.

The limits page sets R50,000 on a sports single but R1,000,000 on multiples and sports overall, pre-match and live. Some rivals cap singles at R10,000, so this is fair.

Worked example: R2,000 on a single at 30.00 would return R60,000, but the single limit means R50,000 is the most you can be paid. The same R60,000 from a multi sits well inside the R1,000,000 limit. Bonus play has its own cap: the deposit match pays out a maximum of R10,000.

100% first deposit match up to R5,000
Claim it in your profile first, then deposit at least R50. It is valid for 3 days on multiples of at least three selections (soccer, rugby, cricket) at odds over 2.0, with a R10,000 maximum payout. Stakes are not returned on bonus winnings, and you cannot withdraw while a bonus is active.
The wagering is unclear. The terms say the “bonus needs to be wagered 7 times”, but also “1st Deposit 5 times the amount at odds over 2.0 on Sport”, plus a “1 x on Deposit” turnover line.
