Our verdict on WanejoBets
This WanejoBets review comes down to the small print. The Eastern Cape licensed bookmaker has a broad sportsbook and a R5 minimum deposit, but it caps withdrawals at R10,000 a day and R20,000 a week, reserves the right to charge 5% to 6% fees on some deposits and withdrawals, and gives you only 48 hours to clear its welcome bonus. It also has an unusual loyalty scheme that pays out in supermarket vouchers, hotel stays and cash.
The welcome bonus is a 100% sports match up to R1,000 from R25. A 5x rollover is fair, but rivals that set a deadline allow 7 to 30 days to meet theirs, and winnings from the bonus are capped at R2,000.
The withdrawal rules matter more. A big win comes out in weekly instalments, and the terms cap payouts at R1 million per player per year. WanejoBets suits modest stakes better than large accumulators.
Reputation is weak: a HelloPeter TrustIndex of 2.7 from 140 reviews, with public replies taking 198 hours 44 minutes on average.
Small-stakes punters on football, tennis and eSports who want Capitec Pay, vouchers or crypto, and who like loyalty rewards they can spend at Checkers or Spur.
Anyone hoping to withdraw a large win in one go, horse racing fans, punters who want live chat, and anyone who cannot place R5,000 of qualifying multis in two days to clear a full R1,000 bonus.

How we reviewed WanejoBets
We rate every bookmaker with the same nine-category model, so WanejoBets is judged on the same terms as its rivals. We used the bookmaker’s own pages and terms, the gambling board’s licence records, app store listings, customer reviews and news coverage, and where the bookmaker’s pages disagree we tell you which wording to trust. See how we rate bookmakers.
Is WanejoBets legit? Licensing and safety
Yes, WanejoBets South Africa is a licensed bookmaker. Its footer names Wanejo Technology (Pty) Ltd, trading as Wanejo Bets, registration 2016/038364/07, holding Bookmakers Licence ECBM017 from the Eastern Cape Gambling Board, issued in September 2022.
The board’s register lists “Wanejo Bets” with a licence expiry of September 2027, though it spells the company “Wanejo Technologies (Pty) Ltd”. The footer carries the registration number, so treat that as the precise name; the register entry looks like a spelling variant.
The company was registered in 2016 and licensed in 2022, so this is a young, online-only brand. It has had no news coverage, and there are no reported fines or sanctions.
What to do if you have a dispute with WanejoBets
There is no published complaints procedure. Write to support@wanejobets.co.za so you have a record, and keep screenshots of bet slips and withdrawal requests. If that fails, go to the Eastern Cape Gambling Board, whose address the terms give as Quenera Drive, Beacon Bay North, Beacon Bay, 5241. In one recent case, WanejoBets said a dispute was resolved “through appropriate regulatory channels”.

WanejoBets sign-up and FICA
Sign-up asks for your phone number, first and last name, ID or passport number and a password, with an optional promo code and a step to select your welcome bonus.
WanejoBets FICA verification must be complete before you can request a withdrawal, which is standard. The terms say it may ask for documents to verify your identity and residence:
- South African ID or passport
- Proof of residence
- Matching name, date of birth, email, phone and ID number on your account
No approval time is stated, and slow FICA is a recurring complaint (one reviewer waited two weeks), so upload documents straight after signing up.
WanejoBets sportsbook: wide list, standard tools
The sportsbook is broader than the brand’s size suggests, advertising “35+ sports” plus a separate eSports list, with tabs for Live Betting, Upcoming and Results.

Sports and leagues
Football, rugby, cricket and tennis lead, followed by basketball, ice hockey, MMA, boxing, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, American football, baseball, handball, Aussie rules, chess and winter sports such as biathlon. WanejoBets calls its odds “the most competitive picks”, which is a claim to check against other books, especially for PSL betting.
Live betting and cash out
Live betting runs under a “Live-In-Play” banner that WanejoBets describes as real-time with instant updates. Cash out is offered; whether partial cash out is available is not stated.
Bet builder and other features
A bet builder lets you combine selections from one game, and there are boosted picks and a “Tipster of the day” panel. Bet builders and price boosts are common across South African books.
What WanejoBets does not offer
Horse racing is not in the sports list.
WanejoBets maximum payouts and withdrawal limits
This is where WanejoBets differs most. The R1 million maximum payout is reasonable, but the terms also cap payouts at R1 million per user per year and slow how fast money leaves your account. Of the bookmakers we have reviewed, only PantherBet has a tighter daily withdrawal cap (R5,000).
| Limit | Amount |
|---|---|
| Maximum payout | R1 million (R500,000 per customer per day) |
| Payouts per user per year | R1 million |
| Withdrawals (excluding Aviator) | R10,000 a day, R20,000 a week, R100,000 a month |
| Aviator | R150,000 maximum payout; R15,000 a week |
| Instant Money, imali, eWallet | R2,500 a day, R25,000 a month |
Worked example: you win R60,000 on an accumulator. At R20,000 a week, the money takes three weeks to withdraw, and each week’s R20,000 must be split over at least two days because of the R10,000 daily limit.
WanejoBets welcome bonus and promotions
The WanejoBets welcome bonus is small and short-lived. A 100% match up to R1,000 is below the R3,000 to R10,000 matches common among rivals, and the 48-hour deadline is the shortest of any bookmaker we have reviewed. The sportsbook page also advertises a bigger offer than the promotion terms.

100% Sports Welcome Bonus up to R1,000
Deposit at least R25 and WanejoBets matches it 100%, up to R1,000. Wager the bonus 5 times within 2 days on multis of 3 or more legs, each at odds of 2.00 or higher. WanejoBets’ example: deposit R100, get R100, wager R500.
For the full R1,000, that is R5,000 of bets in 48 hours, each slip at combined odds of at least 8.00. Bonus winnings are capped at R2,000, bonus funds are used before your cash, and withdrawing early forfeits the bonus. Our guide to wagering requirements explains rollover in more detail.
Conflicting wording: the sportsbook page says “100% match up to R5,000” (R5,000 “with promo code”, R10,000 “with crypto deposit”), and clause 10.10 of the general terms forfeits bonus winnings rolled over at odds under 2.80. Rely on the promotion terms (R1,000, 2.00 per leg), use legs of 2.80 or more to be safe, and confirm with support before depositing. Compare the Betway South Africa bonus or all betting bonuses.
Loyalty programme
This is the most distinctive promotion. Rewards come as real-world vouchers and cash, and tiers must be kept up over a rolling 30 days:
- Level 1 (20,000 points): R1,000 voucher for Shoprite/Checkers, Pick n Pay, Spur or Dineplan.
- Level 2 (35,000 points): Southern Sun or Protea accommodation voucher, listed as R2,500 in the tier table but R3,500 in clause 7.1; check before relying on it.
- Level 3 (50,000 points): R10,000 cashback by EFT, which also needs R30,000 in deposits in a calendar month.
The terms do not say how many points you earn per rand, and cashback must be rolled over once before withdrawal.
Other promotions
- 100% Deposit Sports Bonus: listed alongside the welcome offer.
- Boosted picks: enhanced prices on selected bets.
WanejoBets deposits and withdrawals
Depositing is cheap and flexible, with a R5 minimum and six cryptocurrencies among the options. Withdrawals start at R100, use fewer methods and may carry fees most rivals do not charge.
| Deposit method | Notes |
|---|---|
| Visa, Mastercard | 5% fee allowed by the terms |
| Instant EFT, Ozow, Capitec Pay, Peach Pay | Bank-linked instant payments |
| 1Voucher, OTT, Blu Voucher | Cash vouchers from retailers |
| Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, SnapScan, Zapper | Shown as logos on the landing page |
| Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Tether, Dogecoin | Crypto deposits |
| Withdrawal method | Notes |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer | WanejoBets may pay any withdrawal to your bank |
| Instant EFT | 6% fee possible on some EFT withdrawals |
| Crypto | Listed as a withdrawal option |
| Instant Money, imali, eWallet | R2,500 a day, R25,000 a month |
WanejoBets’ pages disagree on WanejoBets withdrawal times: the terms say requests are “verified and processed within 24 hours”, the sportsbook page says 24 to 72 hours, and checks can hold a payout “for up to 72 hours or longer”. Plan for three days. Only two requests can be open at once, with no more than R10,000 pending.
Which withdrawal method should you use?
- Bank transfer for most players; WanejoBets can route any payout there anyway. See EFT betting sites.
- Instant Money, imali or eWallet only for small sums under R2,500.
- Crypto if you deposited in crypto and manage your own wallet.
How to withdraw from WanejoBets, step by step
- Complete FICA verification.
- Bet your deposit through at least once.
- Open the cashier, pick a method and enter R100 or more, within the R10,000 daily limit.
- Allow up to 72 hours for checks and payment.
Fees to know about
- Card deposits: up to 5%, so R25 on a R500 deposit.
- Withdrawals: “A 6% transaction fee will be deducted of winning on certain amounts and EFT withdrawal requests”; the amounts are not defined. On R2,000 that would be R120.
- Unused deposits: money not bet within 14 days may be returned less a 6% administration fee.
To avoid the card fee, use Ozow or betting vouchers instead.
Casino, Betgames and other games
The casino lobby has slots, live games, game shows, crash games including Aviator, dealer poker and a Jackpot Race, plus local touches such as “Spaza Spins R2 or Less” and Wanejo Exclusives. Betgames sit under “1000 MEGA”. If you are looking for WanejoBets Lucky Numbers, the site does not list a Lucky Numbers section. We do not cover the casino in depth.

WanejoBets app and mobile site
WanejoBets does not list an app in the App Store or Google Play. The sportsbook is a responsive web app that works in your phone’s browser, so there is nothing to download.
Usability and the app are 10% of the overall score. How we rate bookmakers
WanejoBets customer care number and support
The WanejoBets customer care number is 010 157 2725, and email is support@wanejobets.co.za, with a stated response time of 24 hours. The sportsbook page adds WhatsApp on +27 73 698 1869, “Available 24/7”. There is no live chat, which most rivals offer; if you want round-the-clock help, Betway lists 24/7 support.
The 076 675 0710 number in the footer is the National Responsible Gambling Programme, not WanejoBets support. HelloPeter complaints describe unanswered lines, so use email for anything involving money.
Responsible gambling at WanejoBets
The Responsible Gambling page shows “No data”. The sportsbook page says you can set time, loss and win limits, and the terms refer to self-exclusion without explaining how, so ask support by email if you need it. For help, call the National Responsible Gambling Programme on 0800 006 008 or WhatsApp HELP to 076 675 0710.

WanejoBets reputation and complaints
WanejoBets has a HelloPeter TrustIndex of 2.7 from 140 reviews, 68 in the last 12 months. There is no Trustpilot page.
Recent complaints include cashiers blocked after verification, withdrawals stuck in review for 72 hours, two-week FICA waits and support that does not answer. One reviewer praises a smooth site and friendly staff.
WanejoBets does reply, which several rivals do not, but slowly: 198 hours 44 minutes on average, and individual replies have come 6 to 92 days after the review. A September 2026 complaint about a blocked cashier went to the gambling board; the business replied in October 2026 that it had been resolved through regulatory channels.
Tips for betting at WanejoBets
- Plan around the limits. A large win takes weeks to withdraw at R20,000 a week.
- Take the bonus only if you can clear it in 48 hours. Use three-leg multis with every leg at 2.80 or more.
- Skip card deposits. Ozow, Capitec Pay or vouchers avoid the possible 5% fee.
- FICA early, contact support by email. It speeds up your first payout and leaves a paper trail.
WanejoBets questions
Is WanejoBets legit and legal in South Africa?
Yes. WanejoBets is run by Wanejo Technology (Pty) Ltd and holds bookmaker licence ECBM017 from the Eastern Cape Gambling Board, issued in September 2022 and listed as valid until September 2027. It is legal for South African players aged 18 and over, though its HelloPeter record is weak.
What is the WanejoBets minimum deposit?
The WanejoBets minimum deposit is R5, according to the sportsbook page, and you need at least R25 to claim the welcome bonus. The terms allow a 5% fee on card deposits, so Ozow, Capitec Pay, Instant EFT or vouchers are cheaper options.
What is the WanejoBets welcome bonus?
A 100% sports match up to R1,000 from R25. Wager the bonus 5 times within 48 hours on multis of three or more legs at 2.00 or more each; winnings are capped at R2,000. The sportsbook page mentions up to R5,000 or R10,000, but the promotion terms say R1,000, so rely on those.
How long does a WanejoBets withdrawal take?
The terms say within 24 hours, the sportsbook page says 24 to 72 hours, and checks can hold a payout for 72 hours or longer. The minimum is R100, and you can withdraw at most R10,000 a day, R20,000 a week and R100,000 a month.
What documents do I need for WanejoBets FICA?
Have your ID or passport and a proof of residence ready, as WanejoBets may ask for documents to verify both. Your account also needs your name, date of birth, email, phone and ID number. FICA must be approved before you can withdraw, and no approval time is stated.
Is there a WanejoBets app?
WanejoBets does not list an app in the App Store or Google Play. The sportsbook is a responsive web app, so you can bet in your phone’s browser at sports.wanejobets.co.za and add it to your home screen for quick access.
What is the WanejoBets customer care number?
Call 010 157 2725, email support@wanejobets.co.za (stated response time 24 hours) or WhatsApp +27 73 698 1869, which WanejoBets describes as available 24/7. There is a contact form but no live chat. The 076 675 0710 number in the footer is a responsible gambling line.
What is the maximum payout at WanejoBets?
R1 million, with up to R500,000 per customer per day and a cap of R1 million per user per year. Because withdrawals are limited to R10,000 a day and R20,000 a week, a large win is paid out over several weeks rather than all at once.
